⚖️ Do you need a website?

Last week, I wrote about what purpose websites serve.
So, should you make one?
A website requires quite a bit of work and I’ll recommend making it if you have time on your hands, even if it is not an immediate requirement. It can be easier to edit an existing website than build one from scratch in the future.
Think about your future professional goals and how a website might aid in the same. Keep these in mind while designing and writing content for the same.
Eg: For people expanding their practice by hiring more therapists or venturing into work beyond therapy, such as projects for companies, a website can be of helpful in establishing credibility and trust.
Websites are not an absolute necessity.
If you are worried about not having one, I would suggest evaluating if your professional goals are being met despite it. If not, evaluate realistically how might a website aide in the same and if it is the most effective tool, especially considering the effort that goes into it.
Final thoughts:
Can you build a practice without a website?
Yes, my case load had already been full when I made my first website. Most therapists in India still do not have one.
How can you establish trust and credibility without a website?
An updated LinkedIn profile is a useful alternative that can be sent to people who want to know about your work. Education and Work experience is clearly outlined, the About Me sections can be used to speak more about your approach and philosophy.
I’ll share more about how to build one in the next edition.
Until next week,
